Brooklyn Amity School’s elementary classrooms celebrated the 100th day of school on Febryary 24th, 2016!

The 100th day of school is a celebration where elementary school students explore many ways to make 100. Younger students often count the days of school we’ve had, which teaches place value. Several special activities are done throughout the day experiencing “100”, whether through writing (completing 100 second stories), counting 100 beads, or thinking of mathematical expressions that equal 100. Students also have the opportunity to share their posters with the class, for which they collected 100 objects and pasted to a large poster.

The students have a fantastic time and the excitement and enthusiasm for the 100th day increases every year! A big thank you to the parents who helped the students with their posters!
