It is important for students and teachers to interact outside of the classroom setting. With this goal in mind, on Monday, May 8th, a volleyball match was held; the middle school students played four rounds against the teachers. This event allowed for the whole school body to engage in friendly competition and enjoy each other's company.
As a final fundraiser, Helping Hands members organized a Dress Down Day that took place on Monday, May 8th. After paying $3, students were able to wear appropriate clothes of their choice. Thanks to everyone who was involved, participated, and donated, the water well money is finally completed. The money collected was also enough for an eye cataract surgery donation. Soon, those in need will have a clean source of water, and healthier eyesight. This is truly a grand and inspiring accomplishment!
On Sunday, May 7th, the Young Peace Builders members all attended the annual friendship dinner, on of the club's last events. While enjoying many delicious turkish dishes, the girls learned about Ramadan, and reflected on their experiences in regards to the club. Later, Mrs. Amanova demonstrated the cultural Ebru art. Students also had the chance to participate and create their own artworks. The overall experience was phenomenal and everyone had a great time. We hope to keep our students in touch with this club for the upcoming years.
