Science is the understanding of the natural world, and the pursuit and application of knowledge. When the word “science” is mentioned, many different images come to mind; a thick textbook, white lab coats, microscopes, an astronomer peering through a telescope, bubbling beakers, and more. On Friday, January 20th, our students displayed their understanding of science through their science fair projects. Both students from middle and high school participated in this annual event. There were many topics ranging from how salt affects the freezing point of water, to magic mud. Each of these creative projects were presented to several judges, and evaluated accordingly. The judges included both the Amity staff, and teachers outside our school. Altogether, it was a successful experience everyone greatly benefited from. We congratulate everyone who contributed, the winners will be announced very soon…
