For the first time ever, on April 29th, Brooklyn Amity School’s second and third graders were able to venture all the way up to Manhattan’s Metropolitan Museum of Art! It was definitely well worth the trip, as students were able to sit down with one of the museum’s docents and observe some of history’s masterful paintings up-close. The students have been studying Chinese Landscape paintings in art class and this trip gave them the opportunities to see the real paintings and compare them to other landscape paintings from throughout history. Many wished that they could have stayed longer as everyone was having such a good time!
