After months of extensive research, debate practicing, and fundraising, the club members of Model UN attended and participated in the 43rd NHSMUN conference; it is the world’s largest Model UN conference, with hundreds of schools and thousands of delegates joining from all around the world. This year, for three productive days, our students represented the Republic of Niger. They talked to and collaborated with several other delegates to reach a solution and write a resolution paper that would solve problems in their respective committees. This simulation allowed for students to augment public speaking skills, enhance teamwork spirit, and gain political experience. Following the conference, on Saturday the 18th, all the delegates went to the UN headquarters for a closing ceremony. Here, they saw a glimpse of what a future in the political field could look like if they continue their hard work!
