We’re excited to share a joyful highlight from this spring—Brooklyn Amity School’s National Art Honor Society (NAHS) participated in its first-ever community event at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum (@bcmkids) as part of the museum’s annual Eid celebration—and it was a truly unforgettable experience!
Our dedicated art teacher, who has been involved in this beautiful tradition for the past six years, led the way as our NAHS students joined together to bring art, color, and happiness to over 300 children and families who visited the museum that day.
We prepared three vibrant, hands-on activity tables for young visitors to explore:
🎨 Traditional Ebru (Water Marbling) – a mesmerizing art form that reflects the beauty of Turkish culture
🌀 Gelli Art Printing – a fun and creative process using reusable printing plates
🎭 Face Painting – turning joyful faces into works of art with bright colors and imaginative designs
The museum was bustling all day long, and our team worked tirelessly (with just a tiny break for lunch 😅) to engage each child who stopped by. The joy on their faces and the colorful creations they took home were all the reward we needed.
We’re so proud of our NAHS students for their teamwork, creativity, and dedication to bringing art into the community. Special thanks to @bcmkids, @amityvoice, @youthislandny, @turkicfoundationofbrooklyn, and all the amazing organizations who helped make this day a success.
We’re already counting down the days until we return in 2026 for more art, fun, and community connection. 💙
